STERLING® C by Cabot is pelleted, highly reinforcing furnace carbon black
with a high surface area per unit mass. It is suitable to impart electrical conductivity with good reinforcement to rubber compounds. The effect of STERLING® C on the electrical conductivity of rubber compounds depends on the carbon black loading.
- It meets the conductivity requirements without the need for very high carbon black loadings.
- It offers easy processing than compounds based on very super conductive carbon black products.
- It shows similar rubber reinforcement properties to those of ASTM N330 type carbon black, but with better abrasion resistance.
- STERLING® C finds application in antistatic and conductive applications like hospital flooring, sheeting, wire and cable jacketing, printing rolls, conveyor and power transmission belts, hoses for mining.
