Release Agents

Based on 1190 products - Last update on the Jun 26, 2025

Release agents are used in plastics to facilitate the easy removal of molded parts from molds, resulting in a smooth, defect-free appearance. These agents function by creating a barrier between the mold surface and the polymer, preventing adhesion and ensuring clean separation. Key features include improved mold release, reduced production downtime, and enhanced surface quality. Suitable for applications in injection molding, die-casting, and composite manufacturing.

Alternatives to release agents include lubricants. Release agents are available in various sub-types, such as semi-permanent and sacrificial coatings, each tailored to optimize mold release for specific processes and materials.
