Anti-scratch Agents for Plastic Compounds

Incroslip™ SL by Cargill acts as anti-scratch and slip agent. It offers long-lasting & high slip performance, excellent color & oxidative stability and improved organoleptic properties. It is a specially developed food approved additive. It is used in caps & closures, automotive, biopolymers, injection molding and film production.

• It is stable in applications exposed to UV light.
• It provides low visible bloom, scuff resistance and mold- & torque release properties.
• It is suitable for polyethylene (LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE), polypropylene (PP) and all polyolefins applications.
• The recommended dosage level is 0.1-0.25% for film grades, 0.2-0.5% for injection molding grades and upto 1% for compression molding grades.
• Incroslip™ SL has a shelf life of 2 year.

IncroMax™ PS by Cargill acts as a processing aid and anti-scratch agent for styrenics. It provides mold release, scuff- and scratch resistance and surface quality enhancement. It migrates to the surface of the polymer where it forms a thin lubricating layer, which reduces the coefficient of friction between surfaces and reduces unwanted adhesion.

• It offers improved de-nesting and packing of preforms.
• It has a vegetable origin and can be dispersed evenly through the polymer in melt phase.
• It is easy to process and produces fewer rejected parts and less waste.
• It improves output rate, reduces temperature and extruder speeds in processing.
• IncroMax™ PS is suitable for use in PMMA and clear/opaque HIPS and GPPS.

IncroMold™ K by Cargill acts as an anti-scratch and internal mold release agent. It offers reduced cycle time, improved productivity, and improved surface finish in a variety of polymers. It migrates to the surface of the polymer where it forms a thin lubricating layer which reduces the coefficient of friction between surfaces and prevents any unwanted adhesion.

• It is suitable for use upto temperatures of around 280°C-300°C.
• It provides continuous running and reduced machine wear & cleaning.
• IncroMold™ K is recommended for polyolefins, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).
• It is used in automotive and injection molding applications.
• The recommended dosage level is 0.5%.

SILMAPROCESS AL2660 by Silma is a highly concentrated masterbatch of super-high molecular weight functionalized polysiloxane, finely and synergistically dispersed on LLDPE carrier.

• It is used in halogen-free compounds as a processing aid, improving viscosity and homogeneity.
• It acts as a flame-retardant synergist (L.O.I.) and smoke suppressant, while also eliminating surface defects and die drool.
• It works as a slipping agent, external lubricant, and releasing agent during cable extrusion.
• It improves mechanical properties and surface quality of the finished goods.
• It reduces melt viscosity during compounding, enhancing throughput, stability, compound homogeneity.
• SILMAPROCESS AL2660 reduces THR (Total Heat Release) and PHRR (Peak Heat Release Rate) in halogen-free compounds and serves as a scratch and abrasion resistance enhancer in polyolefin and rubber compounds.
• The recommended dosage for the processing aid is 0.5-1%, while for extrusion or injection molding processes is 0.5-5%.

LYSI -306C distributed by DKSH is a siloxane polymer masterbatch. This anti-scratch agent and processing aid is an upgraded version of LYSI-306. It possesses enhanced compatibility with the polypropylene (PP) matrix.

• This results in lower phase segregation of the final surface, this means it stays on the surface of the final plastics without any migration or exudation, reducing fogging, VOCS or odors.
• LYSI -306C offers improvement in many aspects like quality, aging, hand feel and reduced dust buildup.
• It improves the anti-scratch properties of TPE, TPV PP, PP/PPO talc filled systems.
• It is used in classical melt blending process like single/twin screw extruders & injection molding.
• It is suitable for automotive interior surface such as door panels, dashboards, center consoles and instrument panels.
• The dosage level of this additive is 1.5-5% (w/w) and has a shelf life of 24 months.

SILMAPROCESS AY1142A by Silma is a slipping agent, external lubricant and surface modifier. It is used in SBS/SEBS/HIPS compounds as a processing aid, anti-scratch, abrasion-resistant and viscosity reducer. It is a masterbatch of high molecular weight siloxane gum on the HIPS carrier. It reduces the melt viscosity with benefits for the output, stability and compound homogeneity when used in the compounding process. It improves the surface quality and decreases the scraps of the final goods. It imparts impact resistance and ergonomic soft touch. During the compound/extrusion or injection molding, it is used simply mixed with the compound pellets. It is applicable in automotive profiles, shoe soles, utensil grips, hermetic seals and vibration dampening pads. The recommended dosage level is 2-10%. SILMAPROCESS AY1142A has a shelf life of one year.

SILMAPROCESS AZ1142A by Silma is used in PBT compounds as a processing aid, anti-scratch, surface improver, viscosity and pressure reducer. It is a masterbatch of high molecular weight polysiloxane on PBT carrier. It also works as a slipping agent, external lubricant and surface modifier on PBT or PBT filled glass fibers. It reduces the melt viscosity with benefits for the output, stability and compound homogeneity when used in the extrusion process. It improves the surface quality of the finished goods and it decreases the scraps and the material deposits on the die. It gives abrasion resistance in automotive interiors, utensil grips, hermetic seals, impact-resistant ergonomic touch in electronic devices and better aesthetics properties of the surface through the increase of gloss and the elimination of corrugated defects. The recommended dosage level of SILMAPROCESS AZ1142A in compounding is 1-5%. It is used simply mixed with the compound pellets, during the compound extrusion or injection molding directly.

SILMAPROCESS AV1142A by Silma is a slipping agent, external lubricant and surface modifier. It is used in SBS/SEBS/TPV/EVA compounds as a processing aid, anti-scratch, abrasion-resistant and viscosity reducer. It is a masterbatch of high molecular weight siloxane gum on the EVA carrier. It reduces melt viscosity with benefits for output, stability and compound homogeneity when used in the compounding process. It improves surface quality and decreases scraps of the final goods. It imparts impact resistance and ergonomic soft touch. During the compound/extrusion or injection molding directly, it is used simply mixed with the compound pellets. It is applicable in automotive profiles, shoe soles, utensil grips, hermetic seals, vibration dampening pads. The recommended dosage level is 2-10%, depends on the needs. Silicone Masterbatch LYSI-403 distributed by DKSH is a pelletized formulation with 50% ultra high molecular weight siloxane polymer, dispersed in a thermoplastic polyester elastomer.
