ULTEM™ resin 1000R by SABIC is an unreinforced amorphous, flame retardant, metallizable polyetherimide (PEI) resin. It exhibits internal mold release, good dimensional stability, high electric breakdown strength (BDS), good chemical-, radiation (gamma, x-ray), UV-C-, and high heat resistance. It offers high stiffness, hydrolytic stability, good metal adhesion, high strength, low smoke & toxicity and good mechanicals in broad temperature range. Provides low creep sensitivity, low shrinkage, good dimensional stability, good processability and excellent electrical properties. It is suitable for processing by additive manufacturing, extrusion blow molding, film-, foam & profile extrusion, compounding and injection molding. ULTEM™ resin 1000F is recommended for rigid packaging, aircraft interiors, defence, outdoor, lawn & landscape, semiconductors, fossil, electric vehicle, heavy truck, automotive interiors, electrical devices & displays, specialty vehicles, ophthalmics, rail and wind energy. Used in sport/leisure, consumer packaging, personal accessory, textile, lighting, energy storage, home & commercial appliances, servomotor, bus, electronic & industrial material handling, electrical components & infrastructure, personal recreation, composite, automotive under the hood, and recreational vehicle. It is UL 94 V-0, V-2 and 5VA flame-rated and RoHS compliant.
ISCC+ certified bio-based version also available for this grade.
