Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate. BIO-TERGE® AS-40 HA by Stepan acts as a foaming agent and viscosity builder. It is an aqueous solution of anionic surfactant, which is produced by the continuous sulfonation of alpha olefins. It provides excellent viscosity, foam characteristics and mildness. It is readily biodegradable. BIO-TERGE® AS-40 HA is used in hand soaps, shampoos, bath products and other cosmetic care products. It is listed on TSCA, EINECS, ENCS, DSL, AICS, IECSC, PICCS, NZIOC and ECL inventory.
