PRODAN™ OCT

Piroctone Olamine. Acts as an active ingredient that has anti-microbial action on Pityrosporum Ovale, the fungus responsible for the production of dandruff. In addition, it helps to soothe the inflamed scalp, reducing itching, and the formation of new dandruff. PRODAN OCT is soluble in aqueous surfactant formulations and alcohol / water mixtures, producing crystal clear solutions. Thus it is an ideal ingredient for clear anti-dandruff products such as shampoos, rinses, hair tonics, etc. Typical dosage level is 0.1% to 1.0% for rinse-off products, and 0.05% to 0.1% for leave-on products.
