SeraSol® SC 86A

PEG-10 Dimethicone. SeraSol® SC 86A by KCC Basildon (Momentive) acts as a foam stabilizer, non-ionic W/O & O/W co-emulsifier, humectant, plasticizer, conditioner and wetting agent. It is a copolymer of polydimethylsiloxane and polyoxyalkaylene ether. It is used as a surface tension depressant or emulsifier in a wide range of color cosmetic, skin care and clear hair-care applications. Moreover, it exhibits multi-functional organo modified siloxanes, providing characteristics associated with both silicone and organic based additives. It can be used with other dimethicone copolyols or organic based emulsifiers to create a variety of emulsions and enhance emulsion characteristics such as particle size and overall stability. It is hot & cold processable and provides silicone properties to clear and aqueous based formulations. It exhibits pro-foaming quality which stabilizes foam and provides soft & silky skin feel. It is also useful as a wet conditioning additive for shaving, bathing and shower products. Moreover, it shows plasticizing characteristics, useful for modifying the properties of hair styling polymers. SeraSol® SC 86A finds application in formulating antiperspirants, shampoos, conditioners and hair-styling products.
