MEADOWLACTONE®

Meadowfoam Delta-Lactone. MEADOWLACTONE® by Elementis is a non-animal origin, protective- and moisturizing agent. It consists of an amphoteric, cyclical lactone ring derived from a 5-hydroxy moiety on the meadowfoam fatty acid. It provides an elegant after-feel and improves texture of products. It reduces coefficient of friction on skin and hair. It adjusts the hydration levels of interstitial spaces. It helps to improve tone, elasticity and reduces the appearance of dry skin. It also reduces irritancy in products. MEADOWLACTONE® is used in hair care products (shampoo, conditioner, setting aid, relaxer, dye), decorative cosmetics (foundation, eyeshadow, blusher, lip and eye liners), skin creams and lotions. The shelf life of this grade is 2 years. It is approved by Ecocert Greenlife in accordance with the COSMOS Standard.
