Triethyl Citrate (TEC) by Connect Chemicals is a palm oil-free pure solvent, diluent, plasticizer and fixative for perfumes. It is an ester, based on naturally sourced citric acid and ethanol. Exhibits antimicrobial properties and good toxicological profile. It is used as an alternative to astringent actives, like aluminium salts. It prevents enzymatic decomposition of components of sweat and allows better dispersal of insoluble organic UV filters (in modern-day sun creams). It works as a masking and film-strengthening agent in high-grade hairspray and nail polish. Triethyl Citrate (TEC) finds application in skin-, hair & nail care, antiperspirants and toiletries. It is 100% Vegan, Ecocert & COSMOS approved, Halal certified and NATRUE allowed. It has a shelf life of 24 months.
