PEG-16. PEG 800 by Clariant is a perfume fixative, non-greasy lubricant, cleansing agent and softener. It offers a moisture-stabilizing effect in creams and leaves a pleasant feel on the skin. It offers good compatibility with cetyl alcohol, glycerol, stearic acid, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, casein and vegetable albumin. It has no emulsifying effect. It is used in after-shave lotions and transparent toothpaste.
