Jarcol™ I-18EX

Isostearyl Alcohol. Jarcol™ I-18EX by aurorium is an emollient, solubilizer, superfattening agent and dispersant. It is long-chain branched alcohol. It has excellent spreading properties and provides a silky, non-oily, velvety skin feel when formulated into day creams and lotions as well as sun protection products. It remains liquid to about 0°C, which is important for cold processing applications. It is very stable and there is no unsaturation in the molecule where unwanted reactions could occur. It is used in hot processing applications due to its exceptional oxidative stability. Jarcol™ I-18EX is especially suitable for alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) skin treatment products because of its non-ester nature. It offers water repellency at high loading levels. It is also an excellent fragrance carrier that is used by most fragrance houses. It is recommended for cosmetics, skincare, makeup removal and hair care applications. It can be used in active ingredients in antiperspirants and deodorant formulations (AP/Deo). It is a liquid substitute for linear stearyl alcohol. It is designed for use in lipstick formulations and color cosmetics. It is compatible with certain silicone bases and can form gels. It can also be used in body washes, bath foams and alcohol-containing preparations (such as hair lotions and aerosol sprays).
