Dimethicone (and) Dimethiconol. Andisil® SF 2205 by AB Specialty Silicones is a volatile, linear carrier gum blend. It combines volatile siloxane with high molecular weight gum providing excellent water resistance. In skin care products, it provides long wear of active on skin, unique skin feel, cushion, lubrication, organic compatibility, skin protectant, spreadability, water repellency and wash off resistance. It is suitable for clear formulations. Whereas, in hair care products, it offers anti-frizz and conditioning properties to prevent split ends, ease of formulation, soft/supple feel and low residue/light build-up. It improves texture and wet & dry combing. It is suitable for dry & damaged hair and anhydrous formulations. It is recommended for smooth application and film forming properties in creams, lotions and serums. Andisil® SF 2205 finds application in cleansers, color cosmetics, sun care, leave-in conditioners and styling treatments. The shelf life of this ingredient is 12 months.
