Matte Blush for Darker Skin Tones is a pressed powder blush consisting of a carrier (filler), colorants, texture modifiers (often called specialty fillers) and binders (to compact the product into a breakage resistant cake). This formulation base is typical of many of today's pressed powder formulations. Products designed for darker skin require less opacity and more intense color. As a result, a lower level of bismuth oxychloride and higher levels of the iron oxides and red 30 are used. A formulation by Hallstar.

      Decorative Cosmetics: Matte Lipstick

      This matte lipstick contains Kobo's Pigmentary Dispersions, INBP75ER, INBP45R7C, and INBP70U which are used for their high percentage of color. They also help to improve wear and formula aesthetics. Talc N-I2 gives a creamy feel and texture. Kobo's Microsphere, MSS-500/3H, is used to achieve better application and helps to reduce sweating. This formula also features Koboguard® HRPC, a film former, which gives excellent wear, adhesion, and is less tacky than many other film formers.

        Available as fine powders or lightweight gels, mattifying agents enhance long-wear performance. They absorb excess oil and minimize shine, creating a soft-focus finish in skincare and makeup. 

        Popular INCI ingredients in this segment include Silica and Nylon-12. Natural, non-drying mattifiers are in demand. Sub-types include clay-based for oil control and polymer-based for a lightweight feel. They must comply with particle size and inhalation safety limits.

        Decorative Cosmetics: Soft Focus - Matte Liquid Foundation by Wacker

        This water in oil liquid foundation is formulated to combine optical effects with a pleasant texture and a light and smooth skin feel.

        Its key ingredient is the newly launched BELSIL® B 110, consisting of spherical methyl-silsesquioxane beads, which give a soft-focus effect, diffusing the light and allow an instant blurring of pores and fine lines. BELSIL® B 110 is also used to control shine, leaving a smooth and matte finish.

        The foundation is enriched with a silicone elastomer gel,         BELSIL® REG 1102, and a silicone wax, BELSIL® CDM 3526 VP, responsible for the nice texture of this formulation.

        The use of the sugar modified silicone emulsifier BELSIL® WO 5000 helps to homogeneously distribute the pigments and allows to reach for this rich W/O foundation a light sensorial profile, otherwise just known for O/W formulations.
