Ammonium polyacryloyldimethyl taurate is a synthetic polymer that is used as a thickener and a stabilizer in cosmetics and personal care products. It is readily swellable in cold water without the need for neutralization. It enables emulsifier-free formulations with high oil loads and is stable over a wide pH range. It works efficiently in alcohol-based solutions (like anti-bacterial formulas and hand sanitizers).
