DICAP® 2020 by GEO Specialty Chemicals is a linear saturated polyester diol with a pendant carboxylic functional group. The OH terminated polyester chains are DMPA® initiated polycaprolactone. The combination of both hydroxyl and carboxyl functionalities produces unique benefits and versatility. Linear saturated polyester diol with a pendant carboxylic functional group. Acts as an adhesion promoter. Combination of both hydroxyl and carboxyl functionalities produces unique benefits and versatility. The acid group promotes water dispersability of the resin after neutralisation with a base or can improve adhesion to difficult substrates. Can be used in combination with polyester, polyether, acrylic or polycarbonate polyols to formulate pre-polymers for polyurethane dispersions without DMPA. Pre-polymers formulated with DICAP® products have very good solubility in monomers for hybrid applications and in acetone for solvent-free PUDs. Used for coating textiles and leathers.
