Plastopal® EBS 400 B

by BASF

Plastopal® EBS 400 B by BASF is a urea-formaldehyde resin solution. It is used in baking and acid-curable finishes. It can also be used to formulate nitrocellulose coatings where it suppresses yellowing and imparts gloss. Plastopal® EBS 400 B is recommended for industrial baking enamels, nitrocellulose lacquer and conversion varnishes.

Plastopal® H 73 IB

by BASF

Plastopal® H 73 IB by BASF is a urea-formaldehyde resin solution with excellent adhesion, good flexibility, and resistance to light aging. It is used in highly reactive baking and rapidly curing acid-curable finishes. The resin can also be used in nitrocellulose coatings to suppress yellowing and impart gloss. Due to its very low free formaldehyde content, only a small amount of formaldehyde is released during curing. Plastopal® H 73 IB is recommended for interior and exterior wood coatings for flooring, furniture, and millwork applications.

Plastopal® CB

by BASF

Medium viscosity, butanol-etherified urea-formaldehyde resin dissolved in butanol. Used for acid-curable and baking finishes, and for cellulose nitrate lacquers. Can be plasticized with short to medium, non-drying or semi-drying oil alkyds.

Plastopal® H 85 EB LF

by BASF

Highly alkylated urea-formaldehyde resin, etherified with butanol. Used in low-odour, acid-curing wood lacquers and white pigmented acid-curing lacquers. Contains little free formaldehyde and low amounts of solvent. Provides high gloss.

Plastopal® BTB

by BASF

Urea-formaldehyde resins containing urethane groups, etherified with butanol and dissolved in butanol. Used as a binder in formulations containing organic solvents such as baking finishes, acid-curable finishes for coating parquet floors and paper and zapon lacquers in combination with cellulose nitrate. Provides hard coatings, outstanding abrasion resistance and fastness to light.

Plastopal® AWB

by BASF

Butylated urea-formaldehyde resins plasticized with a saturated polyester and dissolved in butanol. Used as sole binder for acid-catalyzed and baking finishes or in combination with cellulose nitrate. Provides very flexible coatings on pliable substrates such as rubber, textiles and paper. Offers compatibility with cellulose nitrate, urea resins and epoxy resins.

Plastopal® BTW

by BASF

Plastopal® BTW by BASF is medium etherified carbamate resin. It shows medium to high acid reactivity. It is suitable for water-based coatings. It is highly recommended for wood, metal and glass substrates. Plastopal® BTW is designed for use in foil and furniture coatings with low formaldehyde content.

Plastopal® EBS 100 B

by BASF

Urea-formaldehyde resin etherified with butanol. Used for baking finishes, acid-curable finishes and cellulose nitrate lacquers. Can be used in combination with plasticizer. Provides stabilizing effect on cellulose nitrate and gloss.

Plastopal® FBX

by BASF

Urea-formaldehyde resin etherified with butanol and dissolved in a butanol/xylene blend. Used for highly reactive, acid-curable and baking finishes. Offers compatibility with most short to medium oil alkyd resins, various polyvinyl butyral and vinyl chloride copolymers, and cellulose nitrate. Can be plasticized with short to medium, non-drying or semi-drying oil alkyds to give good film properties. Provides gloss to cellulose nitrate lacquers. Reduces yellowing of cellulose nitrate.

Plastopal® EBS 400 I

by BASF

Plastopal® EBS 400 I by BASF is urea-formaldehyde resin etherified with isobutanol, dissolved in isobutanol. Can be used in combination with a plasticizer. Provides a stabilizing effect on cellulose nitrate and gloss. Plastopal® EBS 400 I is used for baking finishes, acid-curable finishes and cellulose nitrate lacquers. It is compatible with many industrial coating formulations. It shows good compatibility with non-drying alkyd resins, acrylic resins and nitrocellulose, limited compatibility with alkyd resin with drying fatty acids, melamine-formaldehyde resins and saturated polyester resins and incompatible with dispersions.
