Butyl Glycol by BASF is a high boiling, low volatility eth­y­lene gly­col mono-n-butyl ether/ 2-Butox­yetha­nol/ 1-Hydroxy-2-n-butoxyethane having mild odor. It acts as a solvent and coalescent for paints and printing inks. It can form peroxides in the presence of atmospheric oxygen.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It offers improved flow and extends the drying time of coatings.</li> <li>It also improves brush ability of alkyd resin paints and reduces their viscosity.</li> <li>It significantly lowers the minimum film forming tempera­ture (MFFT).</li> <li>Improves the evaporation beha­vior of the vola­tile constituents.</li> <li>Exhibits miscibility with most common organic solvents and water.</li> <li>Butyl Glycol is used for aqueous coatings and printing inks.</li></ul>
