Aerosol® OT-S surfactant by Syensqo is a flow and leveling additive for polyurethane dispersions (PUDs). It exhibits an optimal balance of flow and leveling properties, eases coating application, improves coating coverage and aesthetics. It provides outstanding wetting characteristics to the coating. Paints and coatings serve to provide both protection and decorative appeal to a substrate. Aerosol® OT-S surfactant is incorporated into coating systems to eliminate surface imperfections and enhance film properties. PUDs can be blended with other waterborne polymers to achieve products with unique properties and values and hence they have replaced many conventional solvent-based coatings in wood, concrete, rail, transportation, plastic and decorative coatings. It is an excellent wetting agent and emulsifier for organic media. It offers quick migration to the interface. Its surface modifying properties can be utilized to reduce surface tension and to increase absorbency and penetration. It also acts as an antistat/ softening agent. It improves stability and durability.
