Surfactants

Based on 1207 products - Last update on the Jun 26, 2025

Surfactants are typically clear to milky liquids or fine powders used in coating formulations to reduce surface tension, enhance wetting, and stabilize dispersions. They  play a key role in minimizing coating defects like craters or fisheyes, making them essential in both water-based and solvent-based systems across decorative, industrial, and automotive coatings.

The shift toward environmentally friendly coatings is accelerating demand for bio-based, low-foaming, and VOC-compliant surfactants that maintain performance while reducing ecological impact. These additives are available in multiple sub-types—anionic, cationic, nonionic, and amphoteric—allowing formulators to meet specific application and compliance needs under global regulatory frameworks like REACH and EPA guidelines.
