SOLBIN® AL by Shin-Etsu is vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer. Exhibits excellent resistance to alcohol and chemicals (acids, alkalis and brine). Possesses toughness and plasticity. Contains other polar groups that enhance adhesiveness and solubility. Lacks odor and taste. Forms water resistant, odorless, tasteless, transparent, thermoplastic, heat-sealable coating films which are fire-retardant and self-extinguishing. Highly compatible with urethane and melamine resins. Also compatible with urethane, alkyd, acryl and urea resins. SOLBIN® AL is suitable for coatings on polyolefin films. Applications include internal coatings of soft-drink cans, rotogravure inks, ship bottom paints, outer surface coatings of cap and top coatings on galvanized color iron plates. Complies with FDA (§ 175.300 and § 175.320).
