Coating ingredients for Can Coatings

MARNEX™ AH448 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel, aluminum foil, PET or PVC films. Also, better adhesion and film strength can be achieved while cross-linked with melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents. This grade offers heat seal properties, flexibility, good processibility and no sticky problem during transportation. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH448 is recommended for interior can coating and screen printing & gravure inks. It complies with FDA 175.300 (only for non-alcoholic goods) and 175.105. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

MARCOA™ CH488 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It is suitable to replace BPA based epoxy resins for BADGE-free formulations. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel and aluminum. A mixed crosslinking agent with melamine, phenolic and block NCO is recommended. MARCOA™ CH488 offers high sterilization resistance and good flexibility. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE and EA. And, it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. Recommended for interior can coating, three-piece cans, pilfer proof caps and drawn & irregular cans. It complies with FDA 175.300, also for alcoholic contents. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

MARNEX™ AH540 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated branched polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel, metal and PET or PVC. Also, better adhesion and film strength can be achieved while cross-linked with melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents. It offers good surface hardness and heat- & chemical resistance. And, better flexibility and adhesion is available, while using with low Tg types of resin, such as MARNEX™ AL171 & MARNEX™ AL072. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH540 is recommended for coil coating, interior can coating and screen printing inks. It complies with FDA 175.300 and 175.105. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

MARCOA™ CH541 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent flexibility and adhesive strength to steel & aluminum. Also, better adhesion and film strength can be achieved while cross-linked with melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents. This grade offers deep drawing, good processibility & boiling resistance. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. It is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARCOA™ CH541 is used in coil coating, primer coating for foil & PET film and aluminum coating. Also, used in appliance primer, interior architecture, deep drawing can white coating and aluminum cap & screw-cap coating. It is in full compliance with FDA 175.300 only for non-alcoholic goods. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

MARCOA™ CH558FC by Macroocean is a high molecular weight saturated polyester resin with high glass transition temperature. It is suitable to replace BPA based epoxy resins for BADGE-free formulations.

• It shows excellent flexibility and adhesive strength to steels for its high molecular weight and linear structure.
• It exhibits high sterilization resistance, even in acid media and good flexibility, processability, high reactivity and excellent adhesion to aluminum.

ETERKYD 4901-B-72 distributed by DKSH is an adhesion promoter for industrial coatings. It is used mainly in baking paints and primers.
