Sillitin® V 88 by Hoffmann Mineral acts as a functional filler. It is a natural combination of corpuscular silica and lamellar kaolinite, which can be used on its own or combined with other extenders or flatting agents. It offers good transparency with a low yellow tinge in unpigmented coatings. Suitable for solvent-based-, solvent-free- & water-based coatings, primers & fillers, varnishes, exterior & interior emulsion- & industrial paints.
- It is quick drying and exhibits low tendency to settle, good wet edge strength and very good flatting effect.
- It possesses excellent dispersion properties and relatively low yield point with a high solids content.
- It provides breathability, high filling ratio, good pigment dispersion (spacer effect) as well as abrasion-, scratch- & weathering resistance.
- Sillitin® V 88 is designed for metal-, powder (polyester/HAA, UV-cured)-, wood- and film (dispersion-based clear wood- & UV/eximer curing) coatings.
- It is also used in soft-feel plastics-, foil-, construction- and decorative applications such as road marking-, facade-, interior-, silicate- and dispersion silicate paints.
- It complies with the standards on basic foodstuffs of the BfR and FDA.
- The recommended metering level is up to 55% depending on intended application.
