Aktifit® PF 115 by Hoffmann Mineral acts as a functional filler. It is an activated Silfit® Z 91, produced by modifying the surface with a special amino functional group. It can be used either on its own or combined with extenders or matting agents. Its special process technology provides high hydrophobicity and outstanding low moisture absorption even under very humid conditions.
  • Exhibits good wettability and excellent dispersion properties, which enable paint production potentially without grinding.
  • It enhances the opacity effect of pigments, offering a replacement potential of titanium dioxide up to 20%.
  • It provides optimum performance in binder systems which have functional groups with active hydrogen bonds including epoxy-, polyurethane-, polyester-, alkyd-, acrylic-, phenolic-, melamine and all stoving enamel resins.
  • It is quick-drying, has a matting effect and shows good scratch-, abrasion-, chemical-, water- & weathering resistance.
  • In clear coats, it achieves good transparency without yellow tint and a slight whitish glazing effect depending on formulation principle and loading.
  • It retains the excellent properties of the base material as it possesses very high- brightness & color-neutrality, relatively low abrasivity, low sieve residues and low moisture content.
  • It imparts high gloss and low haze in powder coatings based on polyester/HAA (Primid).
  • It is used in high performance industrial-, coil-, metal-, electrophoretic-, plastic (soft-feel)- & water-based anti-corrosion- coatings, E-coats, primer and varnishes.
  • Recommended dosage level is up to 55% m/m depending on intended application likewise up to PVC 35.
  • The shelf life of Aktifit® PF 115 is 2 years.
