Aktifit® PF 111 by Hoffmann Mineral acts as a functional filler. It is an activated Silfit® Z 91, produced by modifying the surface with a special alkyl functional group. It can be used either on its own or combined with extenders or matting agents. Its special process technology provides high hydrophobicity and outstanding low moisture absorption even under very humid conditions.
- Exhibits good wettability and outstanding dispersion behavior which enable paint production potentially without grinding.
- It improves opacity effect of pigments, providing a replacement potential of titanium dioxide up to 20% or increasing hiding power.
- In clear coats, it achieves good transparency without yellow tint and a slight whitish glazing effect depending on formulation principle and loading.
- It retains the excellent properties of the base material as it possesses very high- brightness & color-neutrality, relatively low abrasivity, low sieve residues and low moisture content.
- In non-polar to slightly polar vehicle systems, Aktifit® PF 111 is easily dispersed already with low shear energy input, and offers rheological properties such as shear thinning.
- In highly polar systems, its appropriate loadings cause thixotropic properties, strong shear thinning and lead to a yield point.
- It is quick-drying, has a matting effect and shows good scratch-, abrasion-, chemical-, water- & weathering resistance.
- It is suitable for high performance industrial-, anti-corrosion-, UV-cured clear coats, powder (varnishes)-, pigmented-, vinyl ester coatings and primers.
- It is also used in 2k polyurethane-, metal (topcoat ACE, solvent-based epoxy, general, polyaspartic)-, plastic (topcoats, primers)- and water-based electrophoretic coatings, thick film systems (gel coats) and screen printing inks.
- Recommended dosage level is up to 55% depending on intended application likewise up to PVC 35.
- The shelf life of product is 2 years.
