TEGO® Wet 580 Terra by Evonik is a 100% natural, readily biodegradable, highly surface active biosurfactant for waterborne coatings and inks. It is a high-performance, non-toxic grade with an exceptional sustainability profile. Unlike fossil-based surfactants, it is derived from natural resources and produced using microbial fermentation. It reduces static- and dynamic surface tension and exhibits improved corrosion creep, storage stability, optimum color properties, and good corrosion- & chemical resistance.
  • It acts as a beneficial co-dispersant in decorative paints and pigment concentrates, providing improved pigment-, filler & substrate wetting, reduced grinding time- and energy consumption, and good hiding power performance.
  • It helps to eliminate defects in sensitive binders and increase bio-based content, with no compromise in film strength and no negative interaction with rheology modifiers.
  • It has very low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and is well tolerated by aquatic organisms.
  • TEGO® Wet 580 Terra is recommended for architectural paints, printing- & inkjet inks, pigmented-, clear-, protective-, industrial-, transportation- and wood coatings.
  • It improves compatibility and exhibits anti-crater effect in can coatings.
  • The recommended dosage level is 0.1-1.0 wt%.
  • It is EU Ecolabel compliant and has a shelf life of 24 months.
