Secoia® 1501 by Ecoat is a low yellowing, very low VOC/SVOC, cost competitive, bio-sourced (biopreferred) alkyd emulsion. It acts as a binder for waterborne indoor wall paints and architectural coatings. It can be blended with std water-based binders to improve application properties such as open time and leveling.
- It provides good wet scrub resistance, opacity, hardness, good interaction with thickeners and good adhesion on aged alkyd paints.
- It easily lowers the carbon footprint of coatings by advantageously replacing traditional alkyd binders and substituting petro-based styrene-acrylics, while holding coatings performance and formulation.
- Secoia® 1501 is USDA Certified and complies with EU Ecolabel, A+ indoor air emissions rating and OK biobased certification.
