Tyzor® TPT-20B

Supplied byDorf Ketal- Last Updated on Mar 14, 2019

Mixture of organic alkoxy titanates. Is an organometallic catalyst. It is low in toxicity, eliminates by-products and increases yields. It is easy to work with and can be used at low concentrations. It is an effective lewis acid catalyst in processes such as esterification, trans-esterification, condensation- and addition reactions as well as ziegler-natta catalysts for polymerizations. Its typical reaction products include methacrylic esters, polyester, plasticizers, various esters and polyurethanes. It increases surface hardness, promotes adhesion, improves resistance to heat, chemicals, corrosion and scratches, adds iridescence or enhances light reflection. It is useful as a binder and also can be used as an adhesion promoter or crosslinker for functional polymers and other binders in paints. Also used in pigments, fillers, glass- and metal coatings. It can also be used to create polymeric titanium dioxide films on surfaces via pyrolytic or hydrolytic (e.g. sol-gel) processes.
