DOWSIL™ 52 Additive

DOWSIL™ 52 Additive distributed by DKSH acts as an anti-blocking agent. It is a low viscosity, pourable, silanol functional, ultra-high molecular weight silicone dispersion for abrasion-, scratch-, and mar resistance. It is recommended for waterborne paints, inks and coatings.

• It is a flowable liquid that allows easy processing and shows good compatibility with waterborne acrylic, alkyd, polyester, epoxy, PU, and vinyl resin-based coatings.
• It provides a very low coefficient of friction and is effective at very low addition levels without affecting surface hardness, water resistance, or mechanical properties.
• It also improves slip, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, and anti-blocking, while being easy to incorporate during let-down or post-addition.
• Additionally, it is suitable for exterior coatings, compatible with multiple formulations, and offers good cost-in-use performance.
• It is recoatable, APEO-free and effective at low concentration.
• It is suitable for PUD-based wood coatings, interior and exterior paints, inks and overprint varnishes.
• DOWSIL™ 52 Additive is also used in architectural and decorative applications, printing inks, can, coil and industrial coatings, and automotive paints.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.01–3.5% as supplied in waterborne systems, based on total formulation.
