Coating ingredients for Transportation Coatings

SETALUX® 17-1611 by allnex is hydroxy functional acrylic resin designed for use with aliphatic isocyanate resins in two-component systems. These systems produce ambient curing high performance coatings. Laboratory testing indicates excellent resistance to salt spray, water soak and humidity. Based on accelerated weathering tests, it has excellent exterior durability.

• It provides good flexibility and chemical resistance properties.
• It is suitable for industrial high performance coatings for wood, metal or plastics and fast drying industrial primers and topcoats.
• Recommended for topcoats for transportation, chemical maintenance or construction equipment and spot repair clearcoats for car refinishes.
• SETALUX® 17-1611 has a shelf life of 3 years.

DEGALAN® LP 64/12 distributed by DKSH is a versatile binder methacrylates. It exhibits weather- and chemical resistance and lightfastness.

• It is used in UV-printing inks, aerosol, marine & container coatings, primers, impregnations, exterior house-, masonry- and road marking paints.
It is blendable with alcohol and possesses good adhesion to various substrates such as plastics, paper, textiles and metal.
• It is also designed for penetrating primers, concrete- and protective coatings.
• It is compatible with most PVC copolymers, PS, PC, PMMA, ABS, ester-soluble nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, plasticizer, cellulose acetobutyrates/ acetopropionate and partly compatible with alkyd and epoxy ester resins.
• It has a shelf life of 5 years.

SETALUX® 17-1190 by allnex is an acrylic polyol with 4.5% hydroxyl value that is designed for use with aliphatic polyisocyanates in two-component coatings. It provides cure at ambient temperature providing glossy, hard, durable coatings with excellent gloss retention. It offers excellent distinctness of image (DOI), good outdoor durability, excellent resistance and excellent application properties. SETALUX® 17-1190 is used in clearcoats for vehicle refinishes, industrial two-component topcoats and solid color systems for refinishing and transportation coatings. The shelf life is 3 years.

DEGALAN® 64/12 N distributed by DKSH is a granulated polymer based on methacrylates. It is versatile binder for concrete- and thick-layer metal coatings. It exhibits weather- and chemical resistance and lightfastness.

• It is used in marine & container coatings, primers, impregnations, exterior house- and road marking paints and plastic coatings.
• It is compatible with most PVC copolymers, nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, plasticizer, cellulose acetobutyrates/acetopropionate and partly compatible with alkyd and epoxy ester resins.
• DEGALAN® 64/12 N has a shelf life of 5 years and is available in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

WANNATE® HB-75MX by Wanhua Chemical is an aliphatic biuret polyisocyanate based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and dissolved in 25% of 1-methoxy-2-propyl acetate (MPA) and xylene (1:1). It exhibits high chemical- and weathering resistance, very good gloss retention and outstanding mechanical properties. It can be mixed with aliphatic- and aromatic polyisocyanates, polyester polyols and polyacrylates.

• It can be used as the hardener component for lightfast two-component polyurethane coatings.
• WANNATE® HB-75MX is suitable for automotive refinishing, transportation, industrial finishing and plastic coatings.

KERILON® 201S distributed by DKSH is trimethoxy silane terminated polyether polymer. It is used as base polymer in coatings. It exhibits good adhesion strength, tensile elasticity, high transparence, high activity, low modulus, fast curing, excellent aging-, yellowing-, water-, and chemical corrosion- resistance.

• It offers excellent elastic recovery rate, elongation and storage stability with non-tin catalyst.
• It is solvent-, bubble- & isocyanate-free, odorless and eco-friendly grade.
• It can be blended with other RISUN polymers.
• It is suitable for construction industry, transportation industry and general industry application.
• It has a shelf life of minimum 12 months.
• KERILON® 201S is available in Europe.

KERILON® 120N distributed by DKSH is alkoxy silane terminated polyether polymer. It is used as base polymer in coatings. It is solvent-, bubble- & isocyanate-free, odorless and eco-friendly grade. It can be blended with other RISUN polymers.

• It provides good adhesion strength, tensile elasticity, low-medium activity, high transparency, medium modulus, fast curing, excellent aging-, yellowing-, water-, and chemical corrosion- resistance.
• It offers excellent elastic recovery rate, elongation and storage stability with non-tin catalyst.
• It is suitable for construction industry, transportation industry and general industry application.
• It has a shelf life of minimum 12 months.
• KERILON® 120N is available in Europe.

VIACRYL® VSC 5721/65T by allnex is a drying fatty acids modified acrylic copolymerizate for road-marking paints with high solid content. Soil absorption of such coatings is noticeable improved. VIACRYL® VSC 5721/65T has a shelf life of 730 days at 25°C.

THIXATROL® ST by Elementis acts as a rheological additive for use in aliphatic and aromatic solvent-based coatings. It is an organically modified castor oil derivative. It provides increased viscosity, thixotropy, pigment suspension and sag control. It improves the flow and leveling of powder coatings. It is suitable for chlorinated rubber- and decorative coatings, traffic- and anti-fouling paints.

• It offers controlled penetration into porous substrates and imparts excellent package stability and reproducibility.
• It shows no adverse effect on paint durability and no influence on water-resistance of organic systems.
• It is non-yellowing in the final formulation and does not normally react with system components.
• THIXATROL® ST is used in epoxies, polyurethanes, varnishes, air dry industrial-, high build- and hammer finishes.
• The recommended dosage level is 0.2-0.8% by weight.
• It has a shelf life of 4 years.

Bentone® 34 by Elementis acts as a rheological additive designed for low to intermediate polarity organic systems. It is an organic derivative of a bentonite clay. It prevents pigment settling during storage and syneresis in thixotropic systems.

• It improves flow and leveling and controls sagging on vertical surfaces and penetration on porous substrates.
• It increases viscosity and provides thixotropy.
• It is used for anti-corrosive paints, automotive finishes, coil coating systems, dip coatings and industrial finishes.
• Also used in interior and exterior house paints including do-it-yourself paints, paint stripper pastes, printing inks, refinishes for household appliances and road marking paints.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.2-0.5% for house and industrial paints, 0.5-1% for primer and 0.2-0.3 for aqueous systems.
• Bentone® 34 has a shelf life of 4 years.
