Adhesive ingredients for Water-based Adhesives

EPOCROS™ WS-700 by Nippon Shokubai is a VOC-free adhesion promoter and a waterborne crosslinking agent based on acrylic, high oxazoline functionalized reactive copolymer. It offers crosslinking reaction at low temperature (80-120°C) and without any by-product. It exhibits high reactivity with carboxyl groups and performance expression with even small addition.

• It provides improved film strength, low toxicity, fast drying and improved water-, heat- & solvent resistance.
• It also offers excellent adhesion to polyethylene terephthalate (PET), oriented polypropylene (OPP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
• It is recommended for pressure-sensitive adhesives.

It offers high reactivity with carboxyl groups and performance expression with even small addition. It exhibits crosslinking reaction at low temperature (80-120°C) with no by-product.

PolCarb™ 60 by Imerys is a high purity, cost-effective, uncoated ground calcium carbonate produced from high quality chalk.

• It offers higher loading for a given viscosity and better storage stability.
• PolCarb™ 60 provides improved dispersion, reduced sedimentation, good wet-tack and anti-shear shifting.
• It is recommended for natural- and soluble polymer waterborne adhesives.
• It is suitable for dextrin- & polyvinyl alcohol adhesives.

Argirec™ B24 by Imerys is a sedimentary kaolinite. It offers good viscosity stability over time and color match for the test liner substrate. It is recommended for lamination & water-based adhesive.

Socal® 31 by Imerys is an ultrafine, precipitated calcium carbonate. It acts as a reinforcing agent.

• It gives excellent control over rheological properties such as yield value, viscosity and anti-slump behavior.
• Socal® 31 offers enhanced multi-substrate adhesion and stone chipping resistance.
• It contributes to improved physical properties.
• It is recommended for plastisols, sealants, caulks & adhesives that are used in automotive applications.
• It is suitable for water-based formulations.

BENTONE® EW by Elementis is a rheological additive for waterborne system. It is a highly beneficiated, easily dispersible smectite clay. Provides thermostable aqueous phase viscosity control and promotes fast water release. Imparts thixotropy and enhances texturing and stippling effects. Prevents hard settlement of pigments/ fillers and reduces syneresis. It offers excellent sag stability & slump control, outstanding workability and high amount of elasticity. It minimizes floating and flooding of pigments. BENTONE® EW is designed for adhesive applications. It is suitable for the formulation of acrylic sealants. Recommended dosage level is 0.1-1.0%. It has a shelf life of 4 years from the date of manufacture.

DAPRO® FX 514 by Elementis is a VOC-free, low odor plasticizer prepared from renewable resources. It provides enhanced tackiness and flexibility. It is suitable for aqueous adhesives and sealants for flexible floorings and wood floorings.

• Recommended dosage level is 1-5% by weight of the formulation.
• DAPRO® FX 514 has a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture.

EPOCROS™ K-2010E by Nippon Shokubai is a low toxic, water-based crosslinking agent and adhesion promoter. It is a soft, VVOC-free, styrene/acrylic-based oxazoline functionalized reactive copolymer. It offers fast drying as well as improved film strength and water-, solvent- & heat resistance. It is a one-pack type with long usage time.

• It shows excellent adhesion particularly to polyester such as PET and a controllable appearance by glass transition temperature adjustment.
• It provides crosslinking reaction at low temperature (80-120°C) and without any by-product.
• It exhibits high reactivity with carboxyl groups and performance expression with even small addition.
• EPOCROS™ K-2010E is used in pressure-sensitive adhesives.
• It is registered with CSCA (Japan), TSCA (USA), REACH EU (EEA) and pre-registered with KECL (Korea) regulations.

Vinavil® PW195 by Vinavil is a 50% modified polyvinyl acetate aqueous dispersion. It is used in combination with VINADUR 500 or VINADUR 100 for making two-component wood adhesives specifically designed for plywood panel manufacturing. It is suitable for light wood (poplar, okoume) and higher density wood (beech, birch, eucalyptus, sapelli) and is particularly well suited to high-frequency and/or pre-pressing gluing cycles.

• 2k adhesive based on Vinavil® PW195 does not require specific crosslinking temperature to accomplish the final panel bond strength.
• It is easy to handle and offers fast setting compared to UF and soy protein technologies.
• It reduces pressing and converting time, enhancing productivity.
• It provides long pot life stability (up to 5 days) and can be stored at temperatures between 5 and 40°C.
• It enables the production of panels class 1, according to EN717-1 and EN 314 (class 2 achievable under specific application conditions), and are compliant to CARB NAF certification.
• It has a shelf life of 6 months.

Nyad® M400 by Imerys is a high-purity, wollastonite grade that acts as an anti-mud cracking agent. It offers improved loss factor. It is recommended for water-based adhesives, caulks & sealants. Nyad® M400 is suitable for downgauging of core paper-weight in adhesives.
