Calfax® 16L-35 by Pilot Chemical is an aqueous solution of sodium hexadecyl diphenyl oxide disulfonate. It offers superior solubility and stability in electrolyte solutions such as brine, bleach, caustic and inorganic acids. The long, linear side chain promotes lower critical micelle concentration (CMC), higher surface tension and lower foam stability than the other Calfax® products. Calfax® 16L-35 is an efficient biodegradable emulsifier for ABS resins and styrene-butadiene latex, among others. It is CFR 21 and 40 approved. Calfax® DB-45 by Pilot Chemical is Sodium Dodecyl Diphenyl Oxide Disulfonate. It is an excellent emulsifier. It contains no halogenated solvents and is compatible with a broad range of acids, alkalis, chlorine and peroxide bleaches and builders such as sodium carbonate and sodium metasilicate. The branched side chain of Calfax® DB-45 offers improved emulsification. It also aids in improving a latex emulsion's thermal and mechanical stability. It is CFR 21 and 40 approved.
