Hexafluoroisobutylene by DuPont is 3,3,3-Trifluoro-2(trifluoromethyl)-1-propene. It is a colorless, pressurized liquid. Exhibits improved surface tension over Hexafluoropropylene (HFP) due to its branched structure. <br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>Its copolymerization with vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoroisobutylene produces polymers with excellent thermal, chemical and mechanical properties. </li>
<li>It can be readily polymerized with vinylidene fluoride and then cured using an agent such as Bisphenol AF. </li>
<li>Hexafluoroisobutylene is used in fluoropolymers and other specialty fluorochemicals. </li></ul>
