Permalyn™ 496-M

Permalyn™ 496-M by Synthomer is a tackifier. It is a pale, medium-hard, thermoplastic glycerol ester of gum rosin with low acidity. It is produced by means of a steam stripping process that yields a low-odor resin. It displays medium softening point, high tack and wide solubility range. It is compatible with resins, waxes, plasticizers, natural & synthetic rubbers, chlorinated rubber, ethylcellulose, and EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) copolymers. This grade is also compatible with low molecular weight polyethylene, SIS (styrene-isoprene-styrene), SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) block copolymers, APAO (amorphous poly-alphaolefins), acrylic resins, certain polyamide resins, polyurethane compounds, PVP, polyvinylbutyral, nitrocellulose, drying oils and alkyd resins. Permalyn™ 496-M is used in tapes & labels, wax modification, hot melt-, pressure sensitive- and solvent-borne adhesives.
