Tackifiers

Based on 2414 products - Last update on the Jun 26, 2025

Tackifiers appear as light-colored to amber resins in various forms from solid to liquid. Primary features include increased surface wetting, compatibility with various polymers, ability to control tack and peel strength, and contribution to specific adhesive characteristics. They are widely used in pressure-sensitive adhesives, hot melts, and sealants where they provide essential tack properties that allow adhesives to grip surfaces quickly upon application.

Market trends reflect growing demand for bio-based tackifiers derived from renewable sources as alternatives to petroleum-based varieties. Common tackifier types include rosin-based resins, terpene resins, hydrogenated tackifiers, and C5 and C9 hydrocarbon resins.
