KRISTALEX™ 5140SD Hydrocarbon Resin by Synthomer is a high softening point, low molecular weight hydrocarbon resin with low organic volatile content and low odor. It is made up of pure aromatic monomers. It is designed primarily for use as a modifier resin in high-performance adhesives and heat seal compositions.
- It offers water-white color, heat stability, resistance to oxidation and discoloration.
- It shows good compatibility with EVA (upto 30% vinyl acetate) and is suitable for hot-melt & low-color adhesives with improved temperature resistance.
- In styrenic block copolymer-based adhesives, it associates with the styrenic end blocks, producing higher cohesion at temperatures up to 70°C without affecting tack and adhesion properties.
- KRISTALEX™ 5140SD Hydrocarbon Resin is compatible with chlorinated paraffin, polystyrene, rosin and modified rosins, rosin ester, SBR and SBR block copolymers, PVC and ABS.
- Recommended for automotive, caulk and sealant, labels, packaging tapes, specialty tapes, tapes and other adhesive applications.
- It is suitable for food contact applications.
