BioBlack TX

BioBlack TX by Nature Coatings is a bio-based carbon black pigment dispersion. It is easily dispersed into clear, water-based formulas and compatible with multiple binders.

• It offers true solid black with a blue undertone and excellent UV stability.
• It serves as a direct replacement for carbon black dispersions with potential for improved performance.
• It does not fade in UV light.
• It contains no detected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) as determined by EPA 24, according to ASTM D1475-13(2020), ASTM D2369-20 and ASTM E1064-16 as a guide.
• It has less than 0.1% volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
• It is used in applications such as textiles, leather, non-leather and packaging.
• It is designed for adhesive and sealant applications.
• It is recommended for any aqueous formula where the addition of the color black is desired.
• Its recommended usage levels are 20-30% for leather.
• It has an excellent lightfastness rating of 8/8 with a blue undertone.
• Its carbon footprint is 0.60 kg CO₂eq/kg, indicating a net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
• BioBlack TX is non-carcinogenic and consists of bio-renewable content as determined by 14C analysis according to ASTM D6866-16.
