SBR 1013 by Lion Elastomers is a linear, non-crosslinked styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) copolymer. It is produced via hot polymerization using a fatty acid emulsifier and non-staining stabilizer. Exhibits high molecular weight, good shear resistance, low water absorption, high green strength, excellent removability and good insulation & damping. It contains higher styrene that acts as a reinforcing agent, yielding a firmer adhesive film with higher modulus. Imparts increased cohesive and adhesive strength that will not leave residue on the substrate. SBR 1013 offers high sticking capability to the intended surface without a tendency for premature lifting. Blends well with other general purpose tape polymers and shows adherence to both low and high surface energy material. Shows incompatibility to oxidizing agents and solubility in solvents such as toluene, xylene, cyclohexane, hexane, heptane, petroleum distillate and tertiary butyl acetate (TBAc). Suitable for general purpose pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) formulations. Primary applications include adhesives for tapes, labels, caulking, laminating, panels and mastics. It can also be used for tile (floor & wall) adhesives.
