Calcium Oxide by Pratham Stearate functions as a desiccant as it can react with the moisture in the air as well. It is also called lime, quicklime or caustic lime. The reaction takes place with carbon dioxide generating water insoluble carbonates and due to this property, it is used in plastic industry as well for the removal of moisture. Calcium Oxide appears as an off white bulky powder with molecular weight of 56.08.
