Phthalic acid ester of butanol and benzyl alcohol. Acts as a primary phthalate for PVC and PVC copolymers. Allows PVC transformers to operate with less energy input than with many similar plasticizers. Causes a greater flexibility and workability of the material, when incorporated into a polymer. Used widely by the flooring industry as it adds surface properties to flooring materials that minimises maintenance and exhibits a prolonged life.
