Phthalic acid esters of C8 alcohols. Colorless and odourless oily liquid, free of foreign materials. Acts as a primary phthalate based plasticizer for PVC and PVC copolymers. Shows slight insolubility in water but solubility in alcohols, hexane etc. Exhibits miscibility and compatibility with all the monomeric plasticizers of PVC compounding. Possesses good shell structure and permanence. Used as plasticizer in PVC resins for fabricating flexible vinyl products like:- vinyl upholstery, tablecloth, shoes, garden hoses, swimming pool liners, cable coating.
