Phthalic acid esters of 2-Propyl 3 methylhexyl and amyl alcohols. Colorless and odourless oily liquid, free of foreign materials. Shows slight solubility in water (0.30mg/L at 24°C) but good solubility in alcohols, hexane etc. Exhibits miscibility and compatibility with all the monomeric plasticizers. Possesses very low volatility and good permanence characteristics. Used in vinylic compounds including wires, cables and plastisols and also in the production of polymers other than PVC (e.g. rubbers).
