CAL-O-SORB 40 by Hallstar acts as a moisture scavenger & desiccant in rubber compounding. It is a blend of calcium oxide and napthenic oil. It offers improved batch incorporation time, handling and reduces waste & clean up time. The oil protects the powder from premature hydration. In the presence of moisture calcium oxide undergoes an exothermic reaction. It helps to prevent this type of reaction. It is used in footwear, hose and tubing and roll compounds. It is compatible with most elastomers. CAL-O-SORB 40 is used at 5 to 10 parts per hundred parts of rubber to prevent blistering and porosity.
