VERSAPOL GP-446

by Greenchemicals

VERSAPOL GP-446 by Greenchemicals acts as an internal lubricant and mold release agent. It also serves as a compatibilizer in polycarbonate (PC)/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) alloys, reducing the viscosity of PC in the melt phase, ensuring better polymer intermeshing. It is a general-purpose (GP) additive designed for use with all polymers. It improves the pigment, fillers, flame retardant additives dispersion.

Additionally, it promotes flux junctions, even in high-viscosity polymers, reducing cycle times.

It eliminates all tensions in the hand-made surfaces, enhancing transparency and the heat deflection temperature (HDT).

For acrylonitrile butadiene styrene/polycarbonate and polycarbonate/polybutylene terephthalate alloys, it improves the intermeshing between polymer phases.

It allows for a 30-40°C reduction in processing temperatures, extending the thermal lifespan of polymers and flame retardants.

Therefore, VERSAPOL GP-446 is highly recommended for use in the preparation of flame-retardant masterbatches, such as those containing red phosphorus.

VERSAPOL GP-446 does not affect transparency, mechanical properties, hydrolysis resistance, printability, weldability, and sealability.

Due to its high polymer compatibility, it can be directly added to polymer granules before injection molding or extrusion, eliminating the need for compounding, thereby providing technical and economic advantages.

It is suitable for amorphous and transparent polymers such as polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), styrene acrylonitrile (SAN), SB copolymers, co-polyamides, aromatic polyamides, co-polyesters, thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU), and high-temperature polymers like PEEK.
The recommended dosage varies from 0.10–0.25%, eliminating the need for traditional esters and waxes.

For flame retardant masterbatches, a higher dosage of 0.5–1% improves dispersion efficiency, while 1.5–2% can be used to significantly reduce surface friction values.
