SPHERON® SOA carbon black

by Cabot

SPHERON® SOA carbon black by Cabot is a carbon black additive. It is produced by a special process resulting in a very low number of impurities or grit. It offers good pellet properties and high product consistency. It is the most reinforcing and microwave receptive carbon black. It exhibits a unique morphology, which improves the speed of dispersion and ease of mixing compared to standard ASTM N500, N600 and N700 series carbon blacks. The features like cleanliness and morphology together drastically reduce the extruded surface defects normally associated with carbon black. SPHERON® SOA carbon black is used in industrial rubber product applications. It is also suitable for class A automotive weather stripping, extruded profiles and hoses

SPHERON® 4700

by Cabot

SPHERON® 4700 by Cabot is a carbon black. It is manufactured via a special process, resulting in a very low amount of impurities such as grit, process water salts and metallic particles. This grade is similar to the SPHERON® A grade family and offers low level of impurities. It exhibits rubber reinforcement, surface area, structure values and compound processing properties comparable to ASTM N772 series type carbon black. It contains a very low amount of +120 Mesh size impurities and imparts a reduced number of visible imperfections, thereby offering better surface finish than ASTM N772 carbon black. SPHERON® 4700 is used in wide range of industrial rubber product applications such as extruded profiles and injection or compression molded rubber seals and automotive door seals.

SPHERON® SO

by Cabot

SPHERON® SO by Cabot is a carbon black. It has high cleanliness and soft pellets for improved dispersion. It exhibits rubber reinforcement and processing properties similar to those of ASTM N550 carbon black and imparts fewer visible imperfections on the surfaces. It possesses longer screen life (fewer screen changes) and less wear on extruder barrel, screw and die from abrasion compared to conventional ASTM carbon black products. It is suitable for industrial rubber applications that require good extrusion characteristics and low hysteresis with more reinforcement than ASTM N700 and N600 type carbon black products. It is used in automotive weather stripping and door seals, extruded hoses and profiles and anti-vibration and other molded rubber parts. SPHERON® SO conforms to ASTM N550 carbon black target values.

SPHERON® 4000-LP carbon black

by Cabot

SPHERON® 4000-LP carbon black is semi-reinforcing carbon black. It has very low surface area structure and is characterized by a controlled, very low PAH content. It offers excellent rubber compound flowability by imparting low viscosity even at high loadings. Its unique morphology enables higher loading than standard ASTM N500, N600 and N700 series carbon black. It provides similar strength, reinforcement and electrical properties to rubber compounds as ASTM N774, N772 and N762 type carbon blacks. SPHERON® 4000-LP carbon black is used in toys and childcare articles, sports equipment, household utensils, trolleys, walking frames, clothing, footwear, gloves and sportswear, watch straps, wrist bands, masks and headbands.

SPHERON SO-LP carbon black

by Cabot

SPHERON® SO-LP carbon black is a semi-reinforcing carbon black filler. It has a very high structure and is characterized by a controlled, very low PAH content. It is easy to disperse and provides excellent extrusion properties to rubber compounds. Its typical applications include toys and childcare articles, sports equipment, household utensils, trolleys, walking frames, clothing, footwear, gloves and sport wear, watch straps, wrist bands, masks and headbands. It is recommended for rubber compounds that require low PAH content and are currently based on standard ASTM N650, N683, N539 and N550 carbon blacks.

SPHERON® 6400

by Cabot

SPHERON® 6400 by Cabot is a carbon black. It offers an extremely low surface area with a medium-high structure, high loading, extrusion characteristics and green strength. It provides easy dispersion, quicker than most traditional carbon black semi-reinforcing products, thereby shortening mix cycle times and reducing mixing passes. It enables high electrical resistivity specifications to be fulfilled without high white filler levels that can be detrimental for processing and physical compound properties. It imparts improved performance for a wide range of hose, extrusion and molded applications. SPHERON® 6400 is used in rubber parts, automotive coolant, weather stripping, door seals and extruded profiles.

SPHERON® 1416

by Cabot

SPHERON® 1416 by Cabot is a carbon black. Its medium surface area imparts good rubber reinforcement and the high structure providing good processing dimensional stability and smooth extruded surfaces. It makes this grade more reinforcing, with higher UHF activity. It enables high compound extension with plasticizer and white fillers resulting in reduced overall compound costs. Suitable for extrusion applications providing fast extrusion rates, exceptional high UHF microwave receptivity and very good dimensional stability. It has high loading capacity and high oil acceptance. It can replace blends of semi-reinforcing and reinforcing carbon black in rubber compounds. good reinforcement and low heat built up in comparison with traditional ASTM N300 reinforcing carbon black products. SPHERON® 1416 is sued in hoses and door seals.
