CAB-O-SIL® M-7D Fumed Silica by Cabot is a medium-high surface area silica that reinforces silicone rubber. It is the densed form of CAB-O-SIL® M-5 fumed silica. The higher bulk density enables faster incorporation and easier handling. It offers high purity, low bulk density, aggregated structure, hydrophilic surface and submicron particle size. It is suitable for use in the reinforcement of silicone rubbers, including heat-cured rubber, high temperature vulcanizing or high consistency rubber (HTV or HCR) and liquid silicone rubber (LSR). It provides increased hardness, tensile strength and elongation. Due to the hydrophilic surface of CAB-O-SIL® M-7D Fumed Silica further modification of its surface is necessary to prevent crepe hardening. CAB-O-SIL® MS-75D Fumed Silica by Cabot is a medium-high surface area fumed silica that reinforces silicone rubber. It is the densed form of CAB-O-SIL® MS-55. It enables faster incorporation and easier handling. It possesses high purity, low bulk density, aggregated structure, submicron particle size and hydrophilic surface chemistry. It imparts a significant increase in hardness, tensile and elongation. The higher bulk density facilitates faster wet-in or incorporation into viscous polymer systems. CAB-O-SIL® MS-75D Fumed Silica is suitable for use in the reinforcement of silicone rubbers, including heat-cured rubber, high temp vulcanizing or high consistency rubber (HTV or HCR) and liquid silicone rubber (LSR). Due to the hydrophilic surface further modification of its surface is necessary to prevent crepe hardening. CAB-O-SIL® PTG by Cabot is a medium surface area untreated fumed silica. It is suitable for use in the thickening of unsaturated polyester resins. It offers high purity, aggregated structure, submicron particle size, low bulk density and hydrophilic surface chemistry. CAB-O-SIL® PTG enables thickening, thixotropic (shear-thinning) and anti-settling behavior. The thixotropic behavior enables good penetration of the resin into the matrix during application and prevents dripping. CAB-O-SIL® LM-150D by Cabot is a low surface area fumed silica. It is a dense form of CAB-O-SIL® LM150 fumed silica. It provides moderate increase in viscosity, faster incorporation and ease of handling. It offers high purity, aggregated structure, submicron particle size, low bulk density and hydrophilic surface chemistry. The higher bulk density facilitates faster wet-in or incorporation into the viscous polymer systems. It can achieve adequate dispersion of the silica when used with dense, higher bulk density silica. CAB-O-SIL® LM-150D is widely used in thixotropy and reinforcement of sealants and silicone rubbers. CAB-O-SIL® HS-5 by Cabot is a high surface silica filler. It possesses high purity and low bulk density. It imparts good increase in hardness, tensile and elongation. CAB-O-SIL® HS-5 is used in the reinforcement of sealants and rubbers. CAB-O-SIL® LM-150 by Cabot is a low surface area fumed silica. It imparts a
moderate increase in viscosity and reinforcement in liquid and polymer systems. It possesses high purity, aggregated structure, submicron particle size, low bulk density and hydrophilic surface chemistry. It provides the best balance of dispersibility, thixotropy and reinforcement in RTV-1 and RTV-2 silicone sealants. It imparts a moderate increase in hardness, tensile and elongation for the reinforcement in silicone rubbers. CAB-O-SIL® HP-60 by Cabot is a rheology modifier and medium surface area untreated fumed silica. It offers high purity, aggregated structure, submicron particle size, low bulk density and hydrophilic surface chemistry. It can provide higher thickening efficiency (viscosity development) than other untreated fumed silica with comparable surface area, CAB-O-SIL® M-5 fumed silica. CAB-O-SIL® HP-60 is suitable for use in unsaturated polyester resins. CAB-O-SIL® DURAMOLD™ 2150 by Cabot is a medium-high surface area fumed silica. It exhibits an increased reinforcement in high temperature vulcanizing (HTV) elastomers. It is tailored for maximum performance in high strength, hardness and transparency elastomers. It is characterized by a highly aggregated structure with minimal impurities. CAB-O-SIL® DURAMOLD 2150 is used in cable bushings, seals, gaskets, O-rings, boots and vibration dampers as well as in reinforced insulating hoses, grommets, sockets, cable seals and terminals catheters. It is also applicable in valves and bellows, respiratory masks, kitchen tools, diving masks, footwear and swimming caps. CAB-O-SIL® TS-720 by Cabot is a medium surface area fumed silica. It has been surface treated with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). This surface treatment results in hydrophobic silica with a very different performance than untreated silica. It is characterized by high purity, aggregated structure, submicron particle size, low bulk density and hydrophilic surface chemistry. CAB-O-SIL® TS-720 provides thickening efficiency, sag resistance or high film build, shear-thinning rheological behavior and stable rheological performance over time. CAB-O-SIL® TS-530 by Cabot is a high surface area fumed silica which has been surface-modified with hexamethyldisilazane. The treatment replaces some of the hydroxyls on the surface of the silica resulting in increased hydrophobicity and very different performance than untreated silica. It offers high purity, aggregated structure, submicron particle size, low bulk density and hydrophilic surface chemistry. It provides rheology control, sag resistance, high film build, dispersion improvement, anti-settling of pigments and fillers. CAB-O-SIL® TS-530 is used in HTV and liquid silicone rubber applications.
