SILMAFLAME AP2480

SILMAFLAME AP2480 by Silma is a highly concentrated masterbatch based on halogen-free flame retardants technology finely dispersed on polypropylene matrix (PP), according to EN 50642 until 3.5% loading. It is free of polybrominated, polychlorinated and heavy metals.

• It is colorless, not migrating and thermally stable till 260°C.
• It reduces the smoke emission of pure PP (as measured in ASTM E662) both in smoldering and in flaming mode.
• It does not increase the toxicity index of the PP ( according to the standard NF X 70-100) when used until 6% in weight.
• It is suitable for the outdoor exposure and thermal aging.
• It is suitable for a wide range of polypropylene application like stadium seats, furniture, pipe, fittings, automotive interiors and exteriors, electrical and electronics conduit pipes and devices
• It can be used in extrusion or injection molding directly.
• It is also suitable for PP compound filled with talc or GF.
• It is used at 2% to 10% depending on the requirements of the final product, at 2% to 3% it enables PP materials to achieve UL94 Class V2 and a GWFI of 960°C, while 2.5% to 8% allows reaching Class B1 DIN 4102, NFP 92-501 Class M1, and IEC 61386.
• SILMAFLAME AP2480 has a shelf life of 1 year.
