It acts as an endothermic (heat absorbing) chemical nucleating and foaming agent. It is a free-flowing, non-dusting powder with excellent dispersion. It has special polymeric surfactants, which reduce cell size in direct-gas applications using hydrocarbon gases, CFC, HCFC, CO2, NO2, or any combination of the above. It can be used for the creation of very fine cells in injection molding and in medium-density extrudate. It can be dispersed into a liquid foaming agents, color compounds and plastisols. Suitable for low-density direct-gas styrenic thermoplastics. It complies with FDA good manufacturing practices (GMPs) 21 C.F.R. Part 110.
