Nucleating Agents

Nucleating agents are additives used in plastics to enhance the crystallization process, resulting in a smoother, more uniform appearance. They are particularly suitable for applications in packaging, automotive parts, and consumer goods. 

Alternatives to nucleating agents include clarifying agents, which also improve the optical properties of plastics but may not offer the same level of mechanical enhancement. Current trends include the development of high-performance nucleating agents that reduce cycle times and improve energy efficiency during processing. Nucleating agents are available in various sub-types, such as those specifically designed for polypropylene and polyethylene.
