It acts as an endothermic (heat absorbing) chemical nucleating and foaming agent. Used in injection molding to reduce machine energy, to eliminate sink marks, improves cycle time, reduces warp and for minor weight reduction. In extrusion it is used to create a cellular structure and improve throughput in medium density extrudates. Recommended for PE, EVA, PET, PP, TPE and TPO. Recommended dosage is 0.5-2.0%. It complies with FDA good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) 21 C.F.R. Part 110.
