1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid dibutyl ester. Acts as a plasticizer. It is a component of PVC plastisol for carpet blackcoating. Possesses ester-like odor. It helps to make plastics soft and flexible. Used for polyvinyl acetate emulsions and specialized vinyl compounds. Can also be used in shower curtains, raincoats, food wraps, bowls, car interiors, vinyl fabrics, textile lubricating agent.
